1961 French GP, Reims, practice session - The Ferraris 156 of Phil HILL and Giancarlo BAGHETTI on the pitlane

No need really to present again this mythic F1 car ! It was so successful that it completely dominated the F1 scene during the 1961year, with Phil HILL eventually winning the World Championship after the fatal crash of his team mate Wolfgang VON TRIPS at the Italian GP.

Interestingly, the SCALEXTRIC version of the Ferrari 156 was also quite successful on slot racetracks, and have been massively sold all over the world. Today, the SCALEXTRIC C62 / C90 (the "race tuned" version) remains one of the vintage slotcars most appreciated and beloved by enthusiasts.

Their racing liveries are basically simple and standard : 3 racing numbers (front bonnet, right and left side), Ferrari prancing horse stickers on right and left side, a smaller rectangular one at the front, and (although not systematically) PROVA MO-XX registration numbers each side at the rear. That's all, simple. For reasons that I admit I don't know (I'd be interested if one of you would have the explanation), there were two racing numbers schemes used by Ferrari, either white numbers or black numbers over white roundels, as seen on the pics above. Contrary to black numbers, white numbers seemed to always use the same character policy.

For the enthusiast willing to refresh properly his Ferrari 156, the only real problem deals with reproducing accurately the racing numbers.

To alleviate the problem, I've come up with quality home-made decals, inkjet printed, allowing to renovate 1/32 Ferrari 156's very nicely and … easily. I can make them available on a single car basis. Each decal set includes not only the chosen racing numbers, but also adequate prancing horses and PROVA MO-36 or PROVA MO-31 markings, i.e. all decals necessary.

They are printed on white backgrounded quality decal paper. To facilitate the cutting out work, an essential one, decal pieces are all bordered with red. For example, white number roundels must be cut off following the internal border of the red cercling line. In any case, no light blue must be left.

Below are only a few examples of decal sets, but I can produce any other different ones. So, if you would be interested for your own Sharknoses, just email me your exact requirements using the CONTACT page.
